Fogg N' Suds is situated in the Northeast of Richmond located at the Holiday Inn Vancouver Airport. A fusion cuisine restaurant that offers a wide range of dishes from American, Mexican, and Asian origins. If you are a beer enjoyer, this is a destination you must try as they serve over 120 different brews, the largest selection you can find in Vancouver!

This week's guest star is Dawson McDonnell. He has been one of my closest friends ever since we first met back in high school. He is an aspiring marketer and is currently studying marketing at Langara College. He has experience in the restaurant industry as he used to be a server at a high-end restaurant and is extremely familiar with what exceptional food and service look like. He is super excited to share his experience with you below, keep reading!

Fogg N' Sudds can be found at 10720 Cambie Rd., Richmond, BC V6X 3K9. Its location is quite inconvenient as it is extremely far from the central Richmond area. There aren't many malls or any other attractions and major shops in this area so one could say it is inconveniently located for the majority of the Richmond population. However, parking was extremely easy to find. Since the restaurant is attached to a Holiday Inn, there are a lot of visitor spots for the hotel patrons which allow customers of the restaurant to share this space.
When I first walked into the restaurant, the first thing I thought was, "Wow, this place is huge!" The bar was massive, which would be expected for an establishment to claim they have over 120 selections of brews. The space is extremely open, you can see the entire dining area from any angle and I noticed their commitment to providing entertainment on site, I counted 12 TVs in the dining area showcasing mostly sports.
We first arrived at around 6 PM, just around dinner time. The restaurant was about 1/4 full and not too busy. The first thing that we noticed was it took a long time to get a table, It was probably about five minutes before we were approached by an employee to get us a seat. However, the person greeting us was extremely nice!
Another observation was that their tables were peculiarly small, as I was dining I found it difficult to fit all my utensils, food, and drinks on the table whilst having sufficient area for me to rest my hand on the table. This made the dining a little less pleasant.
Let's get into the menu! Fogg N' Suds offers a monthly feature menu that consists of two changing starters, two changing, entrees, and a dessert. Unfortunately, their May feature is not updated on their website so I have provided a picture of the April feature below.

They also have a Beverages & Features menu that includes happy hour prices for their beverages and appetizers. Picture below!

Their main menus consist of a Breakfast Menu and a Lunch & Dinner Menu. Breakfast is served from 6:30 AM to 11:00 AM and lunch and dinner begins at 11:00 AM until closing (10:00 PM).

Dawson's Entrée:
Dead Frog Logger Beef Dip W/ Beer Battered Fries - $16 Slow-roasted shaved beef, caramelized onions, mushrooms, swiss cheese, and horseradish mayo on a schiacciata bun served with au jus

Dawson's final scores and thoughts:
Dead Frogg Logger: 5/10
Teriyaki Chicken Tacos: 8.5/10
Chili Lemon Wings: 6.5/10
Beef Dip: 9/10
Service: 4/10
Environment: 5/10
Dawson's meal began with his Dead Frogg Logger, according to him, there was a strange fermented and mushroom taste that was not appealing and he did not enjoy his drink. The first appetizer was the Teriyaki Chicken Tacos, they were flavorful and fresh. The second appetizer is the Chili Lemon Wings. The flavour was unbalanced. Too much spice and no lemon flavour. The portions were also extremely small and would not recommend them. The highlight of his meal was the Beef Dip. He said the overall flavour was balanced complimented by a thick gravy that enhanced the flavour of the bread and beef. His opinion on the service was that it was extremely slow and lackluster. The servers were not greeting customers with a sense of urgency along with a monotone voice and poor facial expression. Something else that stood out to Dawson about his dining experience was the amount of cameras in the dining area. This made him feel uncomfortable as he felt like he was always being watched.
Ryan's final scores and thoughts: Teriyaki Chicken Tacos: 8/10 Chili Lemon Wings: 6/10 Fog Burger (Signature Burger): 5/10 Service: 6/10 Environment: 8/10
My meal began with the Teriyaki Chicken Tacos. It was extremely delicious the tacos weren't messy to eat, and were extremely flavourful. The portions of the wings were way too small for the price of $16. On top of short proportions, the wings size itself was also extremely tiny, I would not recommend getting their wings during your visit. My main entrée was a huge letdown. For a signature burger, you expect quality and uniqueness from their restaurant. The buns were not proportioned to the middle filling and the filling would soak the outer buns which would destroy the whole frame of the burger once picked up. Another thing that ruined my experience with this entrée is that it you can NOT eat it with your hands. It completely falls apart and is extremely messy. I ended up eating the burger with a fork and a knife it was such a nightmare. The taste itself was good, however, the inability to eat the burger without getting my hands completely soaked in grease and the burger falling apart makes this signature burger a blunder. I have to agree with Dawson that the service was pretty lackluster. Didn't seem like the servers were happy to be there, they were extremely quiet when talking to you and overall it didn't feel like I was treated as a customer. In my honest opinion, I would not recommend this place if you're looking for an authentic experience. The highlights of Fogg N' Suds are the wide variety of brews and endless live television sports entertainment. If you're looking to watch a game with a group of friends, this may be the spot for you. If you're looking for authentic food that is unique to Richmond, I would not recommend you come to Fogg N' Suds. Fogg N' Suds Official Website: http://www.foggnsuds.ca/
