Another restaurant review! This week I visited a restaurant called Delphi Cafe for the first time. It is located in Langley, a city in the Lower Mainland Region's centre and on the Fraser River's southern shores. Langley is approximately 47 kilometres (30 miles) or a one-hour drive from Vancouver. This hidden gem is most popular for their All Day Brunch menu serving seven days a week from 9 AM to 8:30 PM. Keep reading below for more details on the entire experience!
Location and Parking
Delphi Cafe is located inside a multi-tenanted shopping center by the name of Creekside Place. Situated in the vibrant town core of Willowbrook, Langley, Creekside Place is a leading business destination in the Fraser Valley. It has advantages such as being close to the Willowbrook Shopping Center and other well-known stores and retailers being reachable by bus lines that link to Metro Vancouver. The region is expanding quickly, as evidenced by the appearance of new parks, shopping centers, and housing developments which come with lots of parking and modern amenities that attract customers. Finding this location could present challenges as it is well hidden among the busy traffic that this location is situated in with the many popular retailers overshadowing it.
Reservation and Wait Times
Delphi Cafe is walk-in only and is consistently busy during brunch. If you are visiting during this time, you can expect to wait 10-15 minutes for a table and times may vary depending on the day of the week, weekends seem to be a lot more popular and you can expect to wait slightly longer for a table. For my visit, I arrived at 6:30 PM when there were only two other tables seated when I walked in. The waitress was kind enough to let us choose our table and I got seated immediately. If you experience a longer than expected wait time, there are many retail shops a short distance away that you can visit to pass the time.
Special Guest This Week: Abby Gale Lara

This week's special guest is Abby! We first met during one of our classes in our BBA program at BCIT and ever since then, she has been a good friend of mine and has actively supported me and played a major role in sparking my passion for creating 604Menu! Abby currently works at Svante, a company focused on carbon capture technology based out of Burnaby and is also a part-time student in the same program as me. Abby is a passionate individual when it comes to food so it was a no-brainer bringing her with me on this journey and it shouldn't come as a surprise if she is a recurring guest for future reviews! Her fun fact is that she can say the alphabet backwards! She is thrilled to share her experience with you below, so keep reading!
Socials:
Atmosphere
When you first enter the restaurant, you are immediately greeted by a radiant and luminous ambience. The wooden interior design evokes a rustic charm and brings a sense of coziness. You can see the lights bouncing off the walls creating a flawlessly lit dining area that gives an organic yet elegant touch. The soundscape was very welcoming, providing a soft and peaceful atmosphere coupled with the potent aroma of brunch classics, I knew this was going to be a memorable evening.

The Menu
As mentioned, Delphi Cafe is well known for its All Day Brunch menu, however, they also have a wide selection of burgers, pastas and salads as an option. Abby has been a recurring customer and has noted that their pasta dishes are worth trying. To get the most out of this review, I thought it would be appropriate to concentrate on their brunch offering because that is what they are known for and would provide me with a more unique and authentic experience. They do not provide a menu on their main website and it is difficult to find a picture of their full menu anywhere online, so an exclusive photo of their menu was taken and added below, take a look!
The Dining Experience
House Special/Appetizer - $18
Crispy Calamari - Deep Fried Jalapeño And Bell Pepper, Mixed Greens, Tar Tar Sauce, Tomato Sauce and Parsley
Abby's Rating: 8.5/10
My Rating: 8/10
We began the evening with their House Special item as an appetizer, the Crispy Calamari! I am a firm believer that calamari is hard to be done perfectly as it can be easily overcooked and become rubbery, however, the deep-fried preparation creates that perfect crispy and crunchy exterior but also a tender and delicate interior. The jalapeño delivers an essential "kick" that enhances the flavours of the dish. The calamari is served on a bed of salad and mixed greens that also adds to the textural complexity and by gathering all the components of the dish and harmonizing all the elements you can create one unified and cohesive bite that is a culinary delight!
Abby's Entrée - $21 CAD
Fried Chicken Benedict - Fried Chicken Thigh, Sweet Corn, Micro Greens, Pink Pepper
Abby's Rating: 10/10
My Rating: 8.5/10

As an avid Delphi Cafe enjoyer, Abby would like to mention that their Fried Chicken Benedict is a must-try when you visit and that she orders it every time she goes. She is a firm believer that this dish is the best item on their menu. Let's begin with their eggs benedict! The egg was perfectly poached, runny and warm in the center. You're going to love this if you're as excited as I am about cutting into a perfectly poached egg and watching its silky yolk spill over the plate! The hollandaise sauce was smooth and creamy, thick enough to cover your fork and have a light airy consistency. The vinegar adds a balance and enhances the flavour of all the components in the dish. The fried chicken has a very crispy exterior, which goes well with the heightened flavour of chicken that is brought about by a fusion of flavours and textures. Marble potatoes, which are firm, smooth, and elegantly arranged in a small fry basket, go well with the dish and give it a nice finishing touch.
My Entrée - $26.50 CAD
Pork Rib Benedict - Half Rack of Rib With Yuzu BBQ Sauce, Ricotta Cheese, Dried Tomato, Micro Greens, and Pink Pepper on Top
Abby's Rating: 7/10
My Rating: 8.5/10

For my entrée, I ordered the Pork Rib Benedict with hashbrowns. The highlight of this dish, is the MASSIVE dino rib, as you can see it fills 1/3 of the plate. The barbeque sauce on the ribs was slightly overpowering but if you have a balanced bite with the English muffin and poached eggs it creates a unifying bite that is to die for. The ribs were super tender and would fall off the bone at the slightest pressure of your fork. Their eggs benedict are consistent for both the entrées, with another smooth and runny yolk in the center with a slightly acidic hollandaise to counteract the richness and saltiness of the ribs. For someone like me who is not a huge fan of pork, this dish was still really enjoyable and I would recommend you give it a try if you visit Delphi Cafe.

Although Delphi Cafe is quite the commute if you're someone who lives closer to the Vancouver area, if you ever have those late-night cravings for an eggs benedict, or if you just crave some brunch classics, you may want to give it a try! Nonetheless, the experience was great and the staff was extremely friendly. Worth a try if you're in the Langley area and looking for some good food!
